In the 1969 TV special Frosty The Snowman, children were building a snowman when a magic hat landed on it, bringing it to life. The children named the snowman Frosty and they all became friends. The magic hat that brought Frosty to life belonged to a magician named Professor Hinkle. Hinkle tried desperately to get the hat back until Santa Claus told him that wouldn't give him any more presents if he didn't leave Frosty alone. Santa then reminded everyone that Frosty was made of Christmas snow and could come back to life at any time.
